Grandmom receipe ( Chana curry)



Hello everyone today I am going to share the recipe of spicy chana curry .This recipe is inspired by my mom and my  whole family loves it This  dish taste good with freshly prepared layered Paratha or plain Jira Rice. So let’s get started.

Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 20 min
Serve: 3 to 4



Ingredient:
Overnight Soaked Chana – 3cup (coarse grinned 2cup of soaked chana)
Chopped onion – 2cup (3 medium size)
Tomato – 1 1½
Green chilli (as per your taste)
Ginger garlic paste – 2 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder -1 teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 ½ teaspoon
Cumin powder – 2 teaspoon
Chana masala – 3 to 4 tablespoon (you can add gram masala powder instead of Chana masala powder)
Garam masala – 1 tablespoon cumin, 1tsp black pepper, 2 green cardamom, 2 to 3 bay leaves( optional)

Method:
The dish is best prepared in a pressure cooker. Please follow the simple steps mentioned below:
·         Heat about 1 1/2 tablespoon oil in a pan and fry grinned Chana until it became slightly yellow. It should not take more than 5 to 8 mins for on maximum heat. Again soak the fried Chana in 4 cup of lukewarm water and keep that aside.
·         Heat oil in a pressure cooker and once oil is hot add all the masala and salt to taste along with chopped onion.
·         Once the onion became slightly golden brown add ginger garlic paste stir It for a  minute and then add chopped tomato
·         Add all the spices along with 1cup of water and close the pressure cooker lid. Base gravy will be ready in 3 whistles.
·         Open the lid and put the whole Chana and coarsely grind Chana soaked in step 1 with water. Stir the mixture and then again put the lid back on.
·         Then cooked it at high flame till you get 5 to 6 whistles.
·         Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and served with paratha or rice.
